“This is the first comic book by the artist Taylor McKimens. In two darkly funny stories and a series of drawings, The Drips opens up an exuberantly colored world of trailer parks, deserts, burnt out technology and toxic dust. McKimens’ hallucinatory visions are rooted deep in America’s dirty, scratched up underbelly, way out West, long past where cowboys and Dodge trucks have since ceased to tread. This comic book, with its deliberate packing and dense, acute drawings, will resonate long after you’ve initially imbibed it.”

•GOOD LIFE, 2008, B&W, 12 pages, Offset printed on newsprint.
16 x 11.5 inches (40.5 x 29 cm), lightly folded to 8 x 11.5 inches (20.5 x 29 cm)
“Taylor McKimens’ Good Life is a celebration of all things gooey and visceral. It follows the exploits of Sloppy Joe and his dog Stinky, who spend an afternoon poking, squashing, and eating things on the dusty road near Ross Corner Store. McKimens is a master of texture and describes Sloppy Joe’s knit cap, hairy legs, and oozing complexion with an almost disturbing relish.”
